Danny grew up in a small town in North West Georgia, and early on knew that life had more to offer than what was set before him. He graduated The University of Georgia in the summer of 1999, with a B.A. in French with emphasis in Foreign Language Education. However, before he ever had an opportunity to formally use his education, he was cast as a member of MTV's The Real World New Orleans.
A strong aspect of the season was his open relationship with a member of the US military, an event which brought much media attention to the issue of gays in the military.
The Advocate referred to him as the accidental activist, a title he was reluctant to accept at that time in his life. However, he has since realized the need for strong, positive gay role-models and the lack thereof, which has led him to actively pursue this role.

Danny is spreading the message of self-belief and setting positive examples for others to follow. He established an online community at www.countrytoconcrete.org for gay people to speak openly and safely with one another about their experiences and life.
In addition, he is also currently working on several independent film and TV projects including roles as gay characters that project positive portrayals of their lives
