Born in Brussels, Belgium, Jérémie spent his summer holidays studying at the Retine Du Plateau and followed that up by attending a school for circus performers! Already familiar with acting by the age of 10, he appeared in the Belgian production THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS which featured a cameo by none other than Robert Mitchum.  After that, he landed a leading role in THE MELODY OF HEROES, a Belgian/Swiss TV Movie.

Since then, Jeremie has been acting non-stop, compiling an extensive and impressive list of credits. Most notable are: CRIMINAL LOVERS by François Ozon and two highly acclaimed films by the Dardenne brothers: THE PROMISE and THE CHILD.

One of the most pivotal roles of his career came in Christopher Gans’ THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF.  Most recently he starred in the major motion picture IN BRUGES along with Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes.  He recently starred in the Dardenne Brothers’ THE SILENCE OF LORNA.

Renier has received the prestigious Romy Schneider and Best Actor awards at the Joseph Plateau Awards, Belgium’s equivalent of the Oscars®.  He has also been nominated for a César Award (France’s equivalent of the Oscars®) as well as a European Film Award.
